The chilly morning did nothing to keep the bidders away at this Malvern auction. Auctioneer Iain Carmichael took centrestage and was evidently a fan of the property on offer. Calling for reasonable opening bids, the first bidder of the auction came forward with a bid of $1,800,000. Mr Carmichael took the opportunity to offer a vendor bid of $1,900,000 and asked for advances of $10,000. Two additional bidders joined the warfare and pushed the property to its reserve of $1,980,000, which was confirmed after Mr Carmichael quickly conferred with the vendors. Slow turn-taking ensued, with one bidder accidentally bidding against themselves - clearly they were eager to purchase the property. Slowly but surely, and with all three bidders still in play, the property continued on its incline. Eventually, two bidders bowed out simultaneously and the property was finally bought at $2,200,000.
