Calling for opening bids, Mr Cayzer received one at $2,300,000. Mr Cayzer balked at the low-ball offer and noted that the range was between $2,700,000 and $2,900,000. Instead of accepting, Mr Cayzer opted for an opening vendor bid of $2,700,000. Awaiting for a sea of hands that were instead comfortably resting in warm pockets, Mr Cayzer had a quick break but returned to a similar reception. Mr Cayzer decided to pass the property in at the original vendor bid.
