The crowd huddled under the large trees as the drizzle started to fall, but this did not dissipate the two cool, calm and collected bidders who fought strongly for this property. John Bongiorno got proceedings underway with an immediate vendor bid of $5,500,000. After a short pause, Bidder 1 came in for the requested rise of $50,000, followed a few minutes later by Bidder 2 with the same increment. The rises came in quick succession and within a minute or two we had passed $6,000,000. At $6,250,000 the property was announced on the market and selling without any pause or "half-time break". It was at this point both bidders got serious with Bidder 1 making a bold jump from $6,300,000 to $6,400,000 with Bidder 2 following suit and lifting to $6,500,000. After a long pause Bidder 1 came back with $25,000 and Bidder 2 responded fairly quickly with the same. Bidder 1 made one last attempt, but Bidder 2 held on strongly at $6,600,000 and was the successful purchaser.
