The crowd were invited out to the rear garden for today's auction and a good vantage was hard to come by, which also meant it was difficult to see how many were in the crowd, which spilled into the lounge and kitchen. Oliver Bruce got the auction underway and with no immediate crowd participation opened with a vendor bid of $4,900,000. Bidder 1 took a momentary pause and gave the requested $50,000, followed shortly by Bidder 2. Back and forth the two went and when at $5,300,000 Bidder 2 didn't respond a break was taken. Upon return Bidder 2 had a little left in the tank for one more bid of $5,350,000 when Bidder 1 made a strong $100,000 rise. With no further competition the property was passed in to Bidder 1 at $5,450,000 for private negotiations.
