The crowd was vying for the shade at one of the last auctions today. James McCormack was at the helm and began the auction with a vendor bid of $2,600,000. We didn't have to wait long for Bidder 1 to come in for $20,000 followed by Bidder 2 with the same rise. Back and forth the two battled for a few rounds when Bidder 3 came in at $2,735,000 and asked if we were on the market. Mr McCormack advised we were not and took another rise from Bidder 1. Bidder 3 was not keen to give another bid till he knew reserve had been reached and with no other bids a break was taken inside.
Upon return Bidder 3 was keen to only offer $5,000 and after no other engagement from the crowd the $5,000 bid was accepted, though we were still not on the market. Bidder 1 tried one last effort and Bidder 3 came back for another $5,000 and the property was passed in for private negotiations.
